Access to nutritious food is the starting point for health at every age. JLSFRC can help you connect with different nutrition support services that meet your needs and ensure that you have consistent access to healthy meals. Food Stamps/SNAP
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, called Basic Food in Washington, helps people with low incomes make ends meet by providing monthly benefits to buy food.
Fresh Bucks
Fresh Bucks supports the health and well-being of our community by helping participants afford more locally grown fruits and veggies. Participants receive a $20 match per week as funds allow to use at the SJI Co-op or with Farmers Market vendors.
36 Weekends
If you are a family with children and could benefit from some extra help with food on weekends and school holidays, the 36 Weekends Program might be just what you’re looking for! 36 Weekends is a program sponsored by Rotary of San Juan Islands.
Friday Harbor Food Bank
The Food Bank provides San Juan Islanders with access to healthy, sustainable and nutritious food in partnership with community donors, local businesses, and island farmers.
WIC
The WIC program is a food and nutrition program for pregnant women, new and breastfeeding moms, and children under the age of five (5) years. Includes the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program.

Meals for Seniors
The Mullis Senior Community Center serves hot lunches on scheduled days and ask a modest donation to cover the cost. Meals are also delivered to the home bound, through the Meals on Wheels program. Call the Mullis Center at (360) 370-7526 for more information.
Emergency Food Vouchers
Do you need one-time emergency food assistance while you are applying for other food and nutrition supports? Call JLSFRC or stop by our office during business hours – we may be able to help you purchase a few groceries to get by.
New Day Recovery Café
JLSFRC’s Recovery Café is a welcoming, inclusive space where community members from all walks of life gather to support each other on their healing journeys.
