You’re Invited: Celebrating 25 Years of Community Connection

The Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center is turning 25! For a quarter of a century, we’ve been honored to walk alongside San Juan Islanders—through life’s milestones, challenges, and moments of joy. Since becoming a nonprofit in 2000, we’ve supported thousands of neighbors with parenting support, youth mentoring, emergency assistance, child care, recovery programs, and more.

This year, we’re marking the milestone with a community birthday party—and you’re invited!

What’s Happening at the Party

We’re bringing together the fun, the food, and the community spirit that make San Juan Island special:

• Games & prizes for both kids and adults

• Cupcakes, cookies, and appetizers to share

• A classic cake walk and festive birthday hats

• Screen printing with Alchemy Arts – bring your own T-shirt or tote, or buy one on-site and leave with a custom JLSFRC design

• Kid karaoke, marimba music, and other surprises

This event is about more than marking 25 years—it’s a chance to celebrate the people, programs, and partnerships that have made the Family Resource Center what it is today. It’s about the thousands of moments of care, connection, and hope that have strengthened our island community.
