Peer Support Services

Peer Support Specialists are people with “lived experience” who have been trained to help others who struggle with mental health, substance use and/or trauma. Personal experience with these issues provides Peer Support Specialists with practical insights and empathy that may be different from those offered by a professional behavioral health clinician. Peer Support Specialists help people connect with behavioral health recovery services, stay engaged with those services, and minimize the chances of relapse, through shared understanding and mutual accountability. In communities, Peer Support Specialists extend the range of behavioral health supports available during times of stress and hardship, by bringing a meaningful array of services to people directly where they live and work, rather than being limited to an office setting.

Counseling

Are you interested in finding counseling support for yourself or a family member?  The Resource Center can help you find professional counseling services, substance use treatment, or recovery supports that are a good fit for your needs and insurance eligibility.  Whether you have private pay health insurance, Washington Apple Health, Medicare or no coverage at all, our knowledgeable staff will assist you in finding timely and helpful behavioral health supports.  All services are confidential.

New Day Recovery Café

New Day Recovery Café is a program committed to serving people who have experienced trauma and the results of trauma like housing insecurity, family conflicts, substance use disorders and other mental health challenges.

Recovery Rides

Are you looking for a way to get off island to treatment services? Call us and we can connect you with transportation services that are available. 

Being ready to seek help marks a major and critical step toward recovery from addiction.  When our fellow community members are ready to get drugs and alcohol out of their system and to tackle their addiction through intensive treatment, reliable community supports need to be there for them.  

Recovery Rides will bring these supports at this critical time by providing fail-safe  transportation and accompaniment from home to the mainland treatment (and back) for these fellow island residents who are seeking help.  Call (360) 317-3119.

Young Women's Group

Open to all adolescent and young women, Young Empowered Women’s Circle meets weekly. In this environment young women experience a positive, safe, prosocial gathering of their peers, developing friendships and a stronger integration with their Community.
