One-on-One Matches

JLSFRC’s Youth Mentoring Program pairs trained adults with youth who can benefit from weekly one-on-one time with a caring mentor and participation in 4-H clubs and activities. Whether it’s bike riding, baking cookies, or just talking, mentoring is a way for adults and kids alike to experience quality time together and make a positive difference in each other’s lives. Please contact us if you are interested in being a mentor, or if you have a child who might enjoy being a part of this special program!

Group Mentoring

Our Dream Big afterschool and summer program is designed to give elementary school students a supportive environment at the Family Resource Center that builds positive peer relationships. Youth participate in bilingual literacy activities, social-emotional check-ins, arts and crafts, and fitness activities.

Tweens

The SJI Youth Mentoring program matches middle school aged youth with a caring adult that agrees to meet with them on a weekly basis for at least one year. Mentors undergo an application, interview and training process, while mentees also complete an application. This program is focused on promoting youth resiliency through relationship building and exposure to new and fun activities.

Teens & YA

First Generation Mentoring

Designed to meet the needs of students that are the first in their families to attend college or vocational school, this program is for high school juniors and seniors. Students get coaching and assistance with college, financial aid, and scholarship applications throughout the academic year as well as social- emotional support to embark on their pathway of choice.
