The Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center is excited to announce a new After School Program designed especially for neurodivergent youth in grades 3–5! This 10-week program offers a welcoming space for kids to learn, play, and grow.

Once a month, we’re inviting islanders of all ages to unplug from screens and plug back into life! Join us for Screen-Free Saturdays — a new monthly event series hosted by the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center.

January is National Mentoring Month! We invite you to take a moment to reflect on those who played a mentorship role in your life and thank them for being a caring adult. Mentoring relationships are vital connections that let young people know they matter. By accepting youth for who they are, listening carefully, and being patient, mentors can significantly impact their lives. Join us at the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center to expand quality mentoring opportunities for local youth and help them build their identity, sense of belonging, and explore new ideas and opportunities.

On San Juan Island, "neighbors helping neighbors" isn’t just a feel-good phrase—it’s the driving force behind the Island Neighbors program at the Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center.

For Parents and Youth (ages 10-14), the Strengthening Families Program 10-14 is delivered by trained, local facilitators. Through seven evening sessions, we discuss topics that address typical youth and parent situations.
